Overview
An exploration of the current environment & what is required to be effective in it

These are interesting times for intergovernmental relations in Australia.

In the past 12 months, as we have worked to deliver the COAG reform agenda, we have seen significant political changes (a new Prime Minister and an end to an exclusively Labor COAG), challenges in gaining a consensus on health reform and the streamlining of the reform agenda.

The next 12 months look to be equally dynamic with new political arrangements playing out, further work around the most critical of reforms and a reassessment of financial arrangements with the review into the distribution of GST revenue.

Intergovernmental Relations 2011 has been designed to equip those engaged in intergovernmental relations and in the design and delivery of policy around national reforms with the knowledge required to be effective in this dynamic environment.

With presentations from central and monitoring agencies and as well as a series of sessions exploring intergovernmental relations in key reform areas, this conference is a must-see. Don't miss out on the chance to attend Australia's premier intergovernmental relations event – now in its third year!

By attending this event you will learn:

  • The outcomes of recent COAG meetings and reviews, and how they will shape work going forward
  • How completed/successful reforms were delivered
  • How to effectively collaborate across government and with other jurisdictions, such as the business and not-for-profit sectors
  • What is in store for the future and whether there is room for a bit of healthy competition?
